Pinscher
"The origin of the Pinscher is not clear. Some writers believe it is descended from a very old german breed related to the schnauzers, which is descended from the black and tan terrier. The blood of the standard pinscher contributed to the development of the Doberman Pinscher. The breed was recognized in 1979 and the Pinscher Club was created in 1895. The standard Pinscher is less common that the miniature Pinscher." (The Royal Canin Dog Encyclopedia)
Character and Skill
"This spirited, courageous, playful dog is vigilant, well-balanced and good-tempered. Very fond of family, the pinscher is a good playmate for children provided the dog is not man handlen. The miniature pinscher is more high-strung and has a stronger personality then the standard pinscher." (The Royal Canin Dog Encyclopedia)
